Re: Heater blower woes
Just follow up, I tried the resistor switch listed above, it worked well... For a week, it got extremely hot and would need to be installed with a cooling fan which might have made it last longer. There is a 30amp version which may be better suited.

Re: Arduino ...
There's a mpguino project out there that might be worth a look. I cant find any info after a quick look on fuel flow meters. One method is to calibrate your system on brim measurements.

Re: Heater blower woes
Ive ordered a 15 amp pwm motor controller for £8 and plan to run it all through the full speed wire. The potentiometer is a little weedy looking but I'll let you know how I get on. got to be better than those bulky old resistors. Mine was working on full speed but not the other two, then the switch ...

Re: Heater blower woes
Another thought. Looking at the wiring diagram it would be possible to have the resistors in the switch and just use the high power connection thereby by passing the crappy old resistors. Does anyone know what amps the fan uses on full? maybe by a PWM with a dial?

Re: Heater blower woes
Just a thought would it be possible to do a version of the headlight upgrade relay by using the fan switch to run a relay? I guess you would need three relays? Or will this just speed the blower fans early demise?

How often do you need to change the filter? is it an age thing? and where do you get them from?

Re: Which fuse!?
Check you have power at the heater and the switch for it is correctly connected. then it's a case of diagnosing the heater itself manuals for most will be available online. There are a number of startup checks the device will make for safety, I haven't looked at them but it is likely to check the vo...

Re: Broken Lid on Oil Breather Tower
if it stops the oil leaks your OK. so long as the crank case can vent, somewhere, to the carb recycles oil vapour, or externally so long as you dont leave an oil trail!

Re: Broken Lid on Oil Breather Tower
Its just crankcase fumes and a bit of oil going back to the carb. If your engine isn't blowing past the piston rings you should be OK. The one off your DF, if it fits it fits! modern car modders use a catch can for the crank case vent. not critical so long as it's not bloked off and any pressure has...
